John Rothermel here. Most popular musicians despise file-sharing. During Napster's reign, Dr. Dre was one of the first to accuse the company of copyright infringement because songs from his Chronic 2001 album were all over file-sharing networks. However, as he tried to defeat Napster, he was hit with a copyright infringement case of his own. Apparently, the "Deep Note" sound that he uses without permission on the first track of the album is property of LucasFilm. Which infringement is more serious? Is Dre being hypocritical?
