Kanye & K.O. -- Here are the video and audio clips we discussed in last night's class. First, for the segment of NBC's Hurricane Katrina benefit show with Mike Myers and Kanye West, click here and then click on the "George Bush..." link. If you have trouble with the video, see this Washington Post article for a transcript.

Next, click here for the mp3 of The Legendary K.O.'s "George Bush Doesn't Care About Black People" track, and check out the cover art -- perhaps yet another copyright issue there? Visit Kanye West's site to listen to/watch the video for "Gold Digger," the song used by K.O. in the remix. You can also access it through iTunes, if you use that service, or listen to a snippet at Amazon.com.

  • Read through the comments below the Shirley Bassey post -- some enlightening tidbits there. It's interesting to note people's wildly differing (not to say inaccurate) views of how music copyrights work.
