Patent Case Studies -- For those who could not attend class on the 12th, here are the three hypothetical patent disputes we discussed. As you'll see, each one lists facts about the patent holder (or applicant) and the party they believe has infringed. We asked two questions: is the patent (or application) really valid, and if so, are there any possible defenses? I'm happy to discuss these examples, or the patent unit in general, in more detail -- send me an email if you would like to review this.
